brief help is a private starting point. It helps you describe a problem clearly and find public legal services that may fit.
You tell us what happened
Type in your own words or record a voice note of up to one minute. You do not need legal language.
You check the summary
The service organises what you supplied into a short, neutral summary. You can edit it before searching for help. It does not decide whether the law has been broken or tell you what to do.
You choose a service
Matching uses location, legal topic, eligibility and the access preferences you choose. brief help shows up to three possible services and explains the match. The service itself decides whether it can help.
Nothing is sent
brief help does not contact a service, create an account or store your matter. You can copy, download or print the summary and decide what to do with it.
